Where we visit in Nang Thong and Lamru
Nang Thong is the centre of Khao Lak’s main beach. Its sand sits between Bang Niang to the north and the quieter coves to the south, and it is the most developed stretch of the coast, with shops, restaurants and resorts close together. Behind the beach, the main road is lined with places to eat, tour desks and bars that stay busy well into the evening in high season.
Further south, the land rises into the forested hills of Khao Lak Lamru National Park. The park’s headquarters is on the coast at the southern end of Nang Thong, with small beaches and a short trail linking them. Hotels and villas here are more spread out, some tucked into the hillside. We visit hotels, resorts and villas across Nang Thong and the Lamru side, as well as private homes. A practical tip if you are out walking: the forest trails are humid even in the cooler months. Start early, carry more water than you think you need and wear proper shoes. If you come back overheated, rest somewhere cool first and sip water steadily before thinking about a drip.

Can I book a hangover drip while I am still a bit drunk?
The nurse may postpone the drip if you are still heavily intoxicated, for your own safety. If someone is hard to wake, confused, breathing slowly or vomiting while drowsy, call 1669 or go straight to hospital. These can be signs of alcohol poisoning.
Will the drip be noisy or disturb my room-mates?
Not at all. The nurse brings a small kit, and you can lie in bed or on the sofa while the drip runs. Others can carry on sleeping.
