Our hangover IV drip in Khao Lak brings fluids, electrolytes and vitamins to your hotel room, villa or home, given by a registered nurse who stays with you the whole time. It won’t undo last night, but rehydrating directly into a vein may help you feel more like yourself sooner, so the rest of your holiday day isn’t spent lying in a dark room. You stay in bed, we bring everything.

A quick, honest note before you read on. If you were searching for a hangover cure in Khao Lak, there isn’t one, from us or anyone else. What a drip can do is replace the fluid you have lost, top up electrolytes and offer some relief from symptoms such as nausea and a thumping head. Time, rest and water do the rest.
Who this hangover drip is for
Most of the people who ask us for a hangover drip are on holiday and short of time. Khao Lak is quiet compared with Phuket, but a beach-bar evening in Bang Niang, a long dinner in Nang Thong or a wedding party at a villa can still leave you feeling rough. This drip may suit you if:

- You feel dehydrated, headachy or queasy after drinking and struggle to keep water down
- You have a boat trip, tour, flight or family day planned and don’t want to lose it
- You are part of a wedding, birthday or villa group and several of you feel the same
- The heat is making a hangover feel worse than it would at home
- You would rather recover privately in your room than sit in a clinic waiting area
If you are planning to dive in the next day or two, please tell the nurse. Alcohol, dehydration and diving don’t mix well, and the nurse may suggest you speak to your dive operator before you go back in the water.
What’s in the hangover IV drip
Hangover drips like this commonly contain the ingredients below. The nurse will talk you through what goes into your own drip before it starts. Here is what each ingredient is and what it is commonly used for, in plain English.

- IV fluids with electrolytes – a sterile salt-and-water solution. Alcohol makes you pass more urine, and a hot night adds sweat on top. Fluids given into a vein are absorbed straight away, which may help you feel rehydrated faster than sipping water on a sensitive stomach.
- B-complex vitamins – a group of water-soluble vitamins the body uses to turn food into energy. They are a common addition to wellness drips. Any extra the body doesn’t need is passed out in urine.
- Anti-nausea medicine – a medicine commonly used to settle sickness. Anti-nausea medicine may be offered if the nurse decides it is suitable for you, after checking your health and any other medication first.
- Glutathione – an antioxidant the body makes naturally, often added to wellness drips. The evidence that extra glutathione helps with a hangover is limited, so it is best seen as an optional extra rather than the reason a drip like this works.
We will never add anything to your drip without explaining what it is and asking you first. If you have questions about any ingredient, ask the nurse before the drip starts.
How it works
Booking a drip should be the easiest part of a bad morning. Here is what happens from the moment you get in touch.

- You book. Use the booking form or the contact links at the bottom of the page and tell us where you are staying. We cover Bang Niang, Nang Thong, Khuk Khak, Pakarang Cape, Bang Sak, Khao Lak Lamru and Takua Pa. Message us to check today’s availability and arrival time.
- Health screening. Before every drip, the registered nurse asks about your health, medication, allergies and how much you drank, and checks your vital signs. If a drip isn’t right for you, the nurse will say so and suggest what to do instead.
- The drip. The nurse places a small cannula in your arm using sterile, single-use equipment. You can lie in bed, watch something or doze. The nurse stays with you throughout and can tell you how long your drip is likely to take.
- Aftercare. Once the bag is finished, the nurse removes the cannula, checks you over and gives you simple advice: keep drinking water, eat something light, stay out of the midday sun and take it easy on alcohol for the rest of the day.
Some people notice they feel better by the end of the drip. Others feel the difference later in the day, and some feel only a little change. Everyone is different, and a drip works best alongside rest, food and water.

Who shouldn’t have this drip
A hangover drip isn’t suitable for everyone, and IV therapy never replaces medical care. The nurse may decline or postpone a drip if you:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have a heart condition, kidney disease or high blood pressure, or have been told to limit fluids or salt
- Take regular medication, especially blood thinners, diuretics or medicines for heart or kidney problems
- Have allergies to any of the ingredients or to medicines in general
- Are still heavily intoxicated, or have taken recreational drugs
Some symptoms are not a hangover. Call 1669 (Thailand’s emergency number) or go straight to hospital if someone is hard to wake, confused, breathing slowly or irregularly, having a seizure, vomiting repeatedly or while drowsy, or has cold, clammy or bluish skin. These can be signs of alcohol poisoning. Severe headache, chest pain or vomiting blood also need a doctor, not a drip. Never leave a very drunk friend to sleep it off alone.
Hangover IV drip Khao Lak FAQs
Will the drip stop my hangover straight away?
We can’t promise that. Fluids and electrolytes may help you feel rehydrated faster, and anti-nausea medicine, where suitable, may settle your stomach. Many people feel better within a few hours, but how much it helps varies from person to person.
Does the drip clear alcohol out of my body?
No. Your liver and kidneys clear alcohol from your body, and no drip speeds that process up in a proven way. Our hangover drip is about rehydration and symptom relief, and we describe it honestly.
Can you come to my hotel early in the morning?
Our nurses visit hotels, villas and homes across Khao Lak. Message us to check today’s availability and arrival time, including for early-morning visits. Some hotels ask visitors to sign in at reception, so it helps to let them know a nurse is coming.
Can I drink alcohol again the same evening?
We would gently suggest giving your body the rest of the day off. If you do drink, alternate with water and eat properly. A drip doesn’t make the next night’s drinking any safer.
Can several people in our group have a drip at once?
Yes, just tell us how many guests when you book. Each person has their own health screening first, and we plan enough time for everyone.
Book your hangover drip
Tell us where you are staying and roughly when you would like the nurse to arrive. We will confirm the time and ask a few health questions before the visit, so the nurse can get started quickly when they reach your room. Prefer to see everything first?
