This page explains how IV drip therapy works with us in Khao Lak, from the moment you message us to the moment the nurse packs up and leaves. In short: you book, a registered nurse comes to your hotel room, villa or home, checks that a drip is suitable for you, and stays with you the whole time it runs. There is no clinic to find and no taxi to arrange.
On the homepage we describe it in four steps: Book in a minute, Quick health check, Relax & recharge and Back to your holiday. Below, we walk through each part of the visit in a little more detail, so you know exactly what to expect.
The mobile IV drip process in Khao Lak, step by step
Every visit follows the same calm, simple pattern. The details change with the drip you choose and the place you are staying, but the safety steps never do.

1. Book in a minute
You can book in whichever way suits you. Fill in the short form on our booking page, or message us on WhatsApp or LINE. Tell us where you are staying, how many people would like a drip, which drip you are interested in and roughly when you would like the visit. If you are not sure which drip fits, that is fine. Browse our IV drips first, or simply tell us how you feel and we will talk you through the options.
2. We confirm and the nurse travels to you
We reply to confirm the visit, the time and the drip. Arrival times depend on where you are staying and how busy the day is, so please message us to check today’s availability and when the nurse can reach you. The nurse then travels to your hotel, villa or home anywhere in our Khao Lak service area, bringing everything needed for the drip.
If you are staying in a hotel, it can help to let reception know a nurse is visiting, so they can direct them to your room.
3. A quick health check
Before every drip, the nurse runs a short health screening. They ask about your medical history, any medicines you take, allergies, pregnancy and how you are feeling today, and they may check things like your blood pressure. This is the most important part of the visit. If something suggests a drip is not right for you, the nurse will say so honestly and may suggest seeing a doctor instead. You can read more about how we keep visits safe on our safety page.
4. Relax and recharge during the drip
Once you are comfortable, the nurse places a small cannula in a vein, usually in your arm or the back of your hand, using sterile, single-use equipment. Most people feel a brief sharp scratch and then very little. How long the drip takes depends on the drip and the rate the nurse sets; we tell you the expected time when you book. Many guests read, watch something or simply rest.
The nurse stays with you for the whole drip. They keep an eye on the flow and on how you feel, and you can ask questions at any point. If you feel unwell or uncomfortable, tell the nurse straight away and they can slow or stop the drip.
5. Aftercare, clean-up and back to your holiday
When the drip is finished, the nurse removes the cannula, applies a small dressing and checks you feel well. They clear away and take all used materials with them, so there is nothing left behind in your room. They will give you simple aftercare advice, such as keeping the dressing on for a while and drinking water through the day. Then you are free to get back to your holiday.
A drip may help you feel rehydrated and more comfortable, but it is not a replacement for medical care. If you feel worse after a drip, or have chest pain, difficulty breathing or confusion, call 1669 (Thailand’s emergency number) or go to the nearest hospital.
What to have ready
You do not need to prepare much. A few small things help the visit run smoothly:

- Somewhere comfortable to sit or lie down, such as a bed, sofa or sun lounger in the shade
- Your ID, in case the nurse asks for it
- A list of any medicines or supplements you take, and any allergies
- Your hotel name and room number, or your villa address, so the nurse can find you easily
- A glass of water and something light to eat, if you feel like it
Loose or short sleeves make it easier for the nurse to reach your arm. If you have had a lot of alcohol or feel very unwell, tell us honestly when you book so the nurse can judge whether a drip is suitable.
Groups, couples and villas
The same process works for two people or a whole villa. Each guest has their own health screening and their own sterile equipment, and the nurse plans the visit so everyone is looked after properly. For larger groups we may send more than one nurse. Tell us how many people would like a drip when you book your group visit, and we will plan the timing around you.

Paying for your drip
Please ask about payment options when you book, and we will confirm the price of your drip before the nurse sets off. You only pay for the drip you agree on with the nurse.
FAQs: what to expect from an IV drip at your hotel
Do I need to go anywhere for the drip?
No. The nurse comes to your hotel room, villa or home in Khao Lak. You stay where you are comfortable, and the nurse brings everything needed for the visit.
How long does the whole visit take?
It depends on the drip you choose and the rate the nurse sets, plus a few minutes for the health check and aftercare. We tell you the expected time when you book, so you can plan the rest of your day.
What happens if the nurse decides a drip isn’t right for me?
The nurse will explain why and, where it makes sense, suggest seeing a doctor instead. Your safety comes first, and the nurse will never put in a drip they are not comfortable with.
Will the nurse stay with me?
Yes. A registered nurse stays with you from the moment the drip starts until it is finished and the cannula is removed.
