Our immune booster IV drip in Khao Lak brings fluids and vitamins, commonly including vitamin C and zinc, to your hotel room, villa or home, given by a registered nurse who stays with you throughout. It is a gentle top-up for when you feel run down after a long journey, a busy trip or a few nights of poor sleep. We are honest about it: a drip can’t stop you catching a cold, and it doesn’t replace a doctor when you are actually ill.

Who this immune drip is for
Travel can take more out of you than you expect. Long flights, airport food, air conditioning, tropical heat and late nights all add up, and many people arrive in Khao Lak feeling a little flat. This immune drip in Khao Lak may suit you if:

- You feel tired and run down after travelling, but not properly ill
- You have been eating and drinking less than usual and want to rehydrate
- You have a busy schedule ahead, such as a wedding, a dive trip or a family holiday
- You are a resident or expat who wants a top-up during a demanding few weeks
- You prefer to rest in your room rather than travel to a clinic
If you already have a fever, a bad sore throat, a chesty cough or an upset stomach, please read the safety section below first. Being ill is a reason to see a doctor, not to book a wellness drip.
What’s in the immune booster drip
Immune drips like this are commonly built around vitamin C and zinc, with fluids and other vitamins. The nurse will talk you through exactly what goes into your drip before it starts. Here is what these ingredients are and what they are commonly used for, in plain English.

- IV fluids with electrolytes – a sterile salt-and-water solution that forms the base of the drip. Fluids into a vein are absorbed straight away, which may help you feel rehydrated faster, especially in the heat.
- Vitamin C – a water-soluble vitamin the body needs for many everyday processes, including the normal work of the immune system. It is the most common ingredient in a vitamin C IV drip in Khao Lak or anywhere else. The body can’t store much of it, and any extra is passed out in urine.
- Zinc – a mineral the body uses in small amounts, including for the normal function of immune cells. It is a common addition to immunity drips.
- B-complex vitamins – a group of vitamins the body uses to turn food into energy. They are often added to wellness drips.
What does the research say? A large Cochrane review of vitamin C and the common cold found that taking vitamin C regularly did not reduce how often people in the general population caught colds. Regular use was linked with slightly shorter colds, but taking vitamin C once symptoms had already started showed no consistent effect. That research looked at vitamin C taken by mouth, not in a drip. So we describe this drip as a way to rehydrate and top up vitamins, not as protection against illness.
How it works
- You book. Use the booking form or the contact links and tell us where you are staying. We visit Bang Niang, Nang Thong, Khuk Khak, Pakarang Cape, Bang Sak, Khao Lak Lamru and Takua Pa. Message us to check today’s availability and arrival time.
- Health screening. Before every drip, the registered nurse asks about your health, medication and allergies, checks your vital signs and asks how you are feeling. If you sound unwell rather than run down, the nurse will tell you and suggest seeing a doctor instead.
- The drip. The nurse places a small cannula in your arm using sterile, single-use equipment. You can rest, read or sleep while it runs, and the nurse stays with you the whole time. Ask the nurse how long your drip is likely to take.
- Aftercare. When the drip has finished, the nurse removes the cannula and checks you over. Keep drinking water, eat well, get some sleep and stay out of the strongest midday sun.

Some people say they feel refreshed afterwards, others notice little change. Rest, food, water and sleep matter far more for how you feel than any single drip.

Who shouldn’t have this drip
An immunity drip isn’t suitable for everyone, and it never replaces medical care. The nurse may decline or postpone your drip if you:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have a heart condition, kidney disease or high blood pressure, or have been told to limit fluids or salt
- Have had kidney stones, or have G6PD deficiency, as higher amounts of vitamin C may not be suitable
- Take regular medication, especially blood thinners or medicines for heart or kidney problems
- Have allergies to any ingredient or to medicines in general
- Already have a fever or signs of an infection
When to see a doctor instead. Colds and flu usually get better on their own, but see a doctor if your symptoms are severe, last more than a week or keep getting worse. In Thailand, a high fever, particularly after mosquito bites, should always be checked by a doctor, as should a bad headache, pain behind the eyes, a rash or unusual bleeding. Call 1669 or go straight to hospital if someone has difficulty breathing, chest pain, confusion, a stiff neck, or is very drowsy and hard to wake.
Immune booster IV drip Khao Lak FAQs
Will this drip stop me getting ill on holiday?
No, and we wouldn’t want you to rely on it. Research on vitamin C has not shown that it stops people catching colds. Good sleep, hand washing, sun protection, insect repellent and drinking enough water are your best everyday protection.
Can I have the drip if I already have a cold?
It depends on how unwell you are. With a mild cold and no fever, the nurse may decide a drip is suitable after screening. With a fever, a bad cough or feeling properly ill, you should see a doctor rather than have a wellness drip.
Is a vitamin C drip better than tablets?
A drip delivers vitamin C straight into the blood, so more of it reaches the bloodstream than from tablets. Whether that leads to a real health benefit for a healthy person is not proven. For most people a balanced diet with fruit and vegetables provides enough vitamin C.
Can our whole group have an immune drip?
Yes. Tell us how many guests when you book. Each person has their own health screening first, and we plan enough time for everyone.
