A vitamin B12 shot in Khao Lak is a small injection of vitamin B12 given by a registered nurse in your hotel room, villa or home. Many guests add a booster shot to an IV drip, and some ask for a shot on its own. As with every drip, the nurse carries out a health screening first and only gives a shot if it is suitable for you.
Who a vitamin booster shot is for
- Guests already having a drip who would like to add a vitamin shot to the same visit
- People who follow a vegan diet, or who have been told by a doctor that their B12 is low, and want to talk it through
- Travellers who would like something quicker than a full drip
- Adults with none of the health concerns listed further down this page

What’s in a vitamin shot
Booster shots commonly contain one of the following. This is general information about shots of this type, not our exact menu. Message us to ask which shots are available today.

- Vitamin B12: the most commonly requested shot. The NHS explains that B12 helps the body make red blood cells, keep the nervous system healthy and release energy from food.
- B-complex vitamins: a mix of B vitamins, which play a part in turning food into energy.
- Other vitamins: some providers offer other single-vitamin shots. The nurse will explain exactly what is in any shot before it is given.
What the evidence says
We would rather be honest than oversell. B12 injections are a standard medical treatment for people who are deficient: the NHS says B12 deficiency anaemia is usually treated with injections. For people with normal B12 levels, though, there is little good evidence that an extra shot boosts energy. The NHS notes that most people who eat meat, fish, eggs or dairy get enough B12 from their diet.

So a shot may suit you if your diet is low in B12 or you simply like the idea of a top-up alongside your drip. It isn’t a cure for tiredness, and if you feel exhausted for weeks, it is worth seeing a doctor to find out why.
How it works
- Message us. Tell us where you are staying and whether you would like a shot on its own or with a drip. Message us to check today’s availability.
- Health screening. The nurse asks about your health, medicines and allergies, and checks whether a shot is right for you.
- The shot. A small injection, usually into the upper arm, using sterile, single-use equipment. It takes only a moment, and you can tell the nurse if you would like to sit or lie down.
- Aftercare. You may notice slight soreness where the shot was given. Tell the nurse straight away if you feel unwell.

Who shouldn’t have a vitamin shot
Please tell us before booking, and the nurse may advise you to see a doctor instead, if you:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have a heart or kidney condition
- Take regular medication, especially blood thinners
- Have had an allergic reaction to vitamins, injections or any ingredient before
- Have ongoing tiredness, weakness, numbness or tingling, which need a doctor’s assessment
In an emergency, such as swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing or chest pain, call 1669 or go straight to hospital.
B12 injection Khao Lak FAQs
Will a B12 shot give me more energy?
If your B12 is low, correcting it may help. If your levels are already normal, the evidence for an energy boost is weak. The nurse will be honest with you about what to expect.
Can I have a vitamin booster shot without a drip?
Message us to check. You still have a health screening first, as with any drip.
How long does it take?
The injection itself takes moments. Most of the visit is the health screening and a short check afterwards.
